RUNAWAY JURY
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My name is Murphy and my wife, Sandy are so proud of our daughter, and step-daughter, Cindy Michelle (Gasaway) Walker. Though she has had some trying times in the past, she has triumphed against adversity and has come a long way since growing up in the Phil Campbell area. Cindy attended Phil Campbell High School and later graduated in 1993. Her father, Kenneth Gasaway, passed away in 1991, making the next couple of years of school that much more difficult. Although she was burdened with the loss of her father, she maintained an A-B grade average on her own. She was in the "Dream Girl" pagent at school and was on the Homecomming Court in 1993. After High School she attended College at Northwest Shoals Community College at Phil Campbell. She later married Joey Walker, a classmate at "Shoals", and now resides in Slidell, Louisianna and have a beautiful 2 year old daughter named Lindsey. While working as a Legal Seceretary at her current job at Thornhill Lawfirm in Slidell, she was approached by a Movie Scout who later signed Mrs. Walker as an extra in the up comming John Grisham movie "Runaway Jury" as a "potential juror". I asked Cindy for a comment about her expirience and as usuall, she modestly said "It was fun, exciting, tiresome, and an all-round great experience."  "Mr. Hoffman was really nice" she added, "they are all very nice people". She sent her mother and I several photos of her with several of the actors and from talking with her during that time, it was deffinately a lifetime experience for her. I know from experience, that her positive attitude and dimple enhanced smile made her being there much more enjoyable to those she worked with during the shooting of the film.
The movie is to be in theaters nation wide on October 17, 2003 and features Gene Hackman, Dustin Hoffman, John Cusack, Rachel Weisz, Bruce Davidson and Bruce McGill. The main plot of the story is "a juror on the inside (Cusack) and a woman on the outside (Weisz) attempt to manipulate a court trial involving a wrongful death and a major gun manufacturer".  The main tag line of the story is "Trials are too important to be decided by juries". You can view further information on the web at http://www.runawayjurymovie.com/. Rated PG-13 for violence, language and thematic elements.
Again, we are so happy for her and so very proud of her and her accomplishments and look forward to seeing Cindy on the big screen as well as in person on October 17, when we travel to Louisianna to see the movie in the theater in New Orleans where the movie was shot, when it premiers, together.
